Youth LeadershipCIMP is a grassroots community organization that is youth oriented and unlike other organizations, are engaging students in the delivery of the programs.
Our group consists of elementary, middle school, high school, and college students. Year after year, our leadership team shifts to accommodate the new students taking on leading roles as High School Seniors and College Students. CIMP students have led, organized, and participated in various projects over the years. |
Peer MentoringUsing a mentor and mentee system, our program is for students and run by students. We teach our students that regardless of means or English abilities, they have the potential to be a change maker in our society from a young age.
We have adapted to the needs of the community by creating initiatives and projects that further the students knowledge about the world, and all while practicing their English, for those who are English Language Learners. of their communities. |
Empowering StudentsCIMP students are practicing their social skills, becoming role models and learning about the world around them. CIMP is exposing kids to issues in our environment, and giving them the resources and means to be a part of the solution.
We are in a time where divisiveness is very prevalent, and it's because society lack interactions with people from different cultures or socio-economic backgrounds. For these reasons CIMP hopes to bring students together, to teach everyone involved that they too can make a tangible difference in their community. |
Gabriela Garcia-Perez, founderWe human beings are not who we are just because of our biology and background. We are influenced by our environment and the people around us.
It is essential that we take advantage of the great diversity that our country has to offer: the different cultures, religions, ethnicities, and races. This will lead to the understanding that America's diversity is our strength, not our weakness or our divisiveness. As members of this society, it is our responsibility to learn about our differences and above all, respect people’s beliefs as if they were our own. Acceptance and respect for these beliefs are what empowers our nation to be united and caring. "The interaction provided by the CIMP program helps create an appreciation for others’ cultures, and an opportunity to build a stronger and more united community which starts with knowledge, fueled by respect, and ends in understanding." |
CIMP mentors work on building strong relationships with the students to get to know them on a personal level, and with this, be able to provide a personalized education tailored to the needs of each student.
